AUS-ION SEAMLESS ONE-PIECE STEEL PAN CAREWhile our AUS-ION™ pans are multi-century durable (with multi-century warranty), and come lightly pre-seasoned, it still takes some simple care and maintenance of the natural seasoning to maximise their healthy low-stick performance and avoid rust spots.
The simple summary is that AUS-ION™ needs the same care as all French steel pans, which is very similar to steel woks, and bare seasoned cast iron cookware (like our AUSfonte™ cast iron pans). It's all very simple once you've seen it, and we provide a link to these online instructions with each pan.
Remember: AUS-ION™ pans come pre-seasoned, not coated in protective oil, beeswax or lacquers like most steel pans, so they don't need stripping and cleaning like those other brands. Simply start cooking if you're in a hurry, or for best results, follow our instructions to add more strong layers of seasoning all over the pan before you start. Your maintenance will be very much reduced if you follow these instructions to set the pan up correctly from the beginning, then clean after cooking with the recommended methods for steel/iron pans. Cleaning is also simple: no dishwashers and avoid soap and lots of scrubbing. Rinse under hot water and scrape out with any scraper (wood is good or metal for the really tough stuff), or use a brush if you really want things perfect. But don't brush away too much of your hard-earned seasoning. Dry with a paper towel. Wipe on some oil if the pan is still newish and seasoning not yet thick.
